Becky has struggled with anxiety and depression for many years. After reaching out for some support through our BeWell@StepOne service through self-help courses and our Tuesday craft peer support group, Becky’s mental health improved and the group has become part of her life.
Participating in our self-management courses and workshops can lead to a range of positive benefits including:
“The support I received from BeWell was excellent. Both Dom and Barbara were very informative on their approach on the subjects contained in the course and made everyone involved feel very welcome and relaxed. Also, because the group was small, all participants were able to support one another without the need to feel anxious.”
“Really helpful course- good to reflect and hopefully will give me the tools to make some positive changes. Course tutor, Dominic, was very inclusive, kind, knowledgeable and made participation easy – he has a way of making talking in the sessions less scary!”
“I cannot thank Dom and Barbara enough for helping me understand myself better. I have used the knowledge they gave me and put this into daily action to manage my own mental health.”
Our free, group-based courses and workshops are held online, with some in-person sessions available in Paignton/Torbay. This service is open to everyone in Devon over the age of 18.
Our online courses and workshops are designed to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment. We use the platform Zoom to carry out these sessions in small, secure groups. It’s important to note that participation is entirely optional, and each person has the freedom to choose how they engage in the sessions. Some people might prefer to actively participate, share their thoughts and turn on their camera, whilst others might feel more comfortable simply listening and observing without contributing. We respect everyone’s preferences and boundaries.
We offer in-person sessions in the Torbay area for those who prefer face-to-face interactions. Please scroll down to explore our current list of in-person courses and workshops. Our wellbeing practitioners who run the sessions are qualified professionals with personal experiences related to mental health conditions, which allows them to provide valuable guidance and support.
