Self-Funded Community Support
Our self-funded community support is designed to bridge the gap for people who may not be able to access traditional funding methods, but still require personalised mental health or wellbeing support.
Our self-funded community support is designed to bridge the gap for people who may not be able to access traditional funding methods, but still require personalised mental health or wellbeing support.
At Step One, we believe that mental health and wellbeing support should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial circumstances. We also understand that some people may wish to access our services without going through social care funding. Our self-funded community support provides flexible support tailored to meet your specific needs, enabling you to take charge of your mental health and wellbeing.
Our self-funded support includes a range of tailored options, empowering you to meet your unique goals, with flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
Where possible, the support offered will be community-based, focusing on building and reinforcing your links with the local community and encouraging you to play an active role in it. We are flexible to your needs – tell us what you want and we will find an approach to suit you.
This service is currently available to people aged 18 and over living in Devon, specifically in Exeter, Newton Abbot, and surrounding areas. Where possible we will offer this service to individuals in all parts of Devon. We appreciate it is hard for people to find the support they require in isolated areas of the county.

“I’m glad to have Steve as support. Even when I have psychosis he treats me as an equal. Money management from banking to everyday expenditure. New recipes to cook, dishes I’ve never tried before. I feel more secure with Steve by my side.”
