Step One Charity’s Make A Will Week offers you the chance to write or update your will with a trusted local solicitor, Scott Richards Solicitors, in exchange for a recommended donation.
Step One Charity’s Make A Will Week offers you the chance to write or update your will with trusted local solicitor, Scott Richards Solicitors, for free* with a suggested minimum donation.
During this week our partner solicitors’ will-writing experts will donate their time for free and instead of paying the solicitor you simply make a donation to Step One Charity. This means that you, in partnership with our local solicitors, are helping to raise essential funds to support people with mental health problems in Devon while also receiving expert legal support to write your will.
Appointments for Step One Charity’s Make a Will Week can be booked for between 3rd to 7th March 2025. Appointments are limited and provided on a first-come-first-served basis, so contact them directly as soon as possible – please quote ‘Step One Charity’ to enquire.
You can book either an individual or couple’s appointment. Our solicitors could offer virtual or in-person meetings or may also make a house visit. Call Scott Richards Solicitors on 01626 772441 to find out their accessibility options.
*Suggested donation is £200 for an individual and £250 for a couple
If you are interested in making your charitable donations go further, why not think about leaving a gift in your will. It is one of the most effective ways to give to charity as the charity receives 100% of your donation, it could reduce your inheritance tax, and you pay nothing now. If this all sounds good to you then speak to the solicitor about this option during your appointment.
Your gift could allow us to offer vital wellbeing activities such as visiting local animal centres or peer support activities, such as a wellbeing walking group for people at risk of mental health crisis.
The appointment is for you to take care of your loved ones and is completely confidential. There is no obligation to leave a gift to charity in your will, but if you would like to consider doing this you can rest assured that your gift will help to fund vital work across our local communities.
Please contact legacies@steponecharity.co.uk for further information, download our Make A Will Week Brochure, or contact our partner solicitors direct to book an appointment.
