How you can help
We are thrilled to be a charity partner once again for Exeter’s Great West Run 2024. The 13.1 mile course is a beautiful journey through Exeter, starting and ending at Exeter Arena Athletics Stadium and features a mix of city and countryside views.
By participating, not only will you achieve something incredible, you’ll also cross the finish line knowing that you’ve made a huge difference to the lives of people in Devon who are struggling with mental health problems. With your help, we can prevent people from reaching crisis point.

How do I sign up?
If you would like to run for Step One, your registration is free. All we ask is that you pledge to raise a minimum of £100 for Step One Charity. Click the ‘Sign Up’ button below and your code will apply automatically at checkout. Alternatively, contact our fundraising team and they’ll be happy to help you.
What happens next?
- You will receive a notification letting you know that your registration was successful.
- Our Step One Charity fundraising team will send you a welcome email where they will ask you for some information such as your t-shirt size so they can send you a running vest in the post.
- Create your online fundraising page through JustGiving and share the link with your family, friends and colleagues along with sharing on social media.
- Look out for your Team Step One pack in the post! This will be sent out once we have your t-shirt size.
- Let the training commence! The Great West Run have some great resources to help you with your training. By the end you’ll be ready to tackle your half marathon with confidence!

Be a volunteer!
Step One will host a water station on the running course as well as have a stall in the event village. It’s a great way to support the charity, support the runners, and get involved in a fun-filled community event.
