An insight into our Managing Your Anger Course

BeWell@StepOne course spotlight:
Managing Your Anger

We understand that people can be nervous about joining online groups and discussing mental health issues. So, we’ve put together a course spotlight to make things a little easier when you’re deciding which of our courses will be best for you.

About BeWell@StepOne’s Managing Your Anger course

Managing Your Anger is a 4-week online course that allows you to consider the emotions under your anger, develop coping strategies, and allows you to discuss your own experiences. This isn’t about making anger disappear but using anger in a healthy and controlled way. During this course, we will be looking at ways to reduce the impact of both your emotional feelings and the psychological stimulation that anger causes.

Who is the course for?

This course is aimed at those who feel that anger is affecting them personally and would like to deepen their understanding of anger and techniques on how to deal with it efficiently.

What does the course aim to achieve?

Through this 4-week course, we will be examining different types of anger and explore how anger can mask other emotions.

We sometimes view anger as the problem, but underlying that anger could be fear, depression, shame, guilt or many other emotions.

We will be looking at ways to reduce the impact of both your emotions and the physiological stimulation that anger causes.

It can sometimes be difficult to avoid things that make us angry, but we will be discussing ways of controlling the instant reactions to our anger.

What is the key takeaway from this course?

You might feel scared that asking for help will get you in trouble, but it is often the most important first step towards changing your behaviour.

What our participants say

‘’Amazing. Learnt quite a bit. Can’t wait to learn more!’’

‘’The group I was with were great! We all gelled and participated. We all had different reasons for being on the course and it worked well – we were all sensitive to each other’s needs.’’

‘’Good resources and presentation. Activities were interesting.’’
