Step up for mental health in Devon with our Every Step Counts challenge

Every Step Counts challenge

We’re excited to announce the launch of our brand-new challenge, Every Step Counts kindly sponsored by John Lewis Exeter! This October, coinciding with World Mental Health Day (10th October), we’re inviting everyone in Devon to get active, raise vital funds for mental health support, and earn a commemorative medal – all while taking care of yourself and your community.

Why Every Step Counts

Here’s how your participation makes a difference:

  • Funds essential services – Your registration fee and fundraising efforts directly support BeWell@StepOne, our free mental health support service in Devon. This service addresses a range of issues, helping people build resilience and live fulfilling lives.
  • Promotes wellbeing – Whether you’re walking, running, or wheeling, physical activity is a fantastic way to boost your own mental health. Every Step Counts encourages you to get moving and connect with the outdoors.

Join the challenge!

Step Three: Track your journey

From October 1st to 31st, track your steps using your favourite app or fitness tracker. Share your progress on social media using #EveryStepCounts and tag us! At the end of October, send a screenshot of your steps to fundraising@steponecharity.co.uk to claim your medal.

Businesses can step too!

Looking for a way to boost team morale, promote physical activity, and give back to the community? Every Step Counts is perfect for businesses. Contact us to discuss a personalised challenge for your team, whether it’s a lunchtime walk on World Mental Health Day or a company-wide step competition.

Supporting mental health and wellbeing in Devon is our mission at Step One, a local charity based in Exeter. By participating in Every Step Counts, you’re not just getting active, you’re helping to ensure vital services like BeWell@StepOne are available to those who need them most across Exeter, Torbay, and the wider Devon area.
